Hitting retirement age doesn't have to mean queuing up for your Giro and getting pro at Bridge, as 63 year old Ray Sunman has proved.
He's set up Ray Sunman Associates, a consultancy firm in County Durham, showing you're never too long in the tooth to turn a business idea into an exciting reality.
He was made redundant after 10 years in one job, but that didn't encourage Ray to take an early retirement and put him off chasing his ambitions.
He says the help from Business Link in drawing up plans for his company's launch was invaluable. As well as getting professional advice, it allowed him to secure funding for a computer and marketing.
A Business Link spokesperson says Ray's success is down to taking advantage of startup events and making a thorough business plan.
