New employment regulations are a big worry for many small businesses according to a survey that looked at how employers view the state of the labour market.
According to a report commissioned by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), businesses were particularly apprehensive about two changes due in October 2011.
The study found that 28 per cent of employers thought that the new Working Time Regulations would be a hindrance to business and 32 per cent were concerned about the Agency Worker Regulations.
However the survey found strong business support for the employment acts dealing with disability discrimination, age discrimination and the data protection act.
