The number of young people starting their own small business in Scotland has leapt over the past six months.
Figures released by the Prince's Scottish Youth Business Trust claim there was a 39 per cent rise in the number of start-ups by 18 to 25 year olds in the second half of last year, with a total of 363 applying for funding.
It's thought many young people are taking matters into their own hands in a difficult job market.
The increase comes as the number of new firms in the country in general appears to have actually fallen in the same period.
