Creating your campaign

You might want to let people know about a special promotion, your latest sale or any new products you have in your store. With the ‘Newsletter manager’, like all major online stores, you can send a newsletter via email to all your registered customers – in just the click of a button.

To start creating your newsletter or emaik, click on the 'Marketing' tab in your homepage. This will take you to the Newsletter manager, where you can see all the email campaigns you have created.

Newsletter Manager

Click the ‘Add new’ button and on the following page give your email a name (this is just for your reference) and a subject (which will be seen by your customers).
Click the ‘Save details’ button and you will now be able to enter the content of your newsletter into the ‘Email message’ box. You can format your email using the tools at the top of the ‘Email message’ box – as well as adding images and your own HTML code.

You will also see a section called ‘Allowed message tokens’. If you add any of these into your message, Storefront will automatically replace any tokens with the relevant information from your shop or administration – this ensures that all your messages are personalised for each of your customers.

For example, if you added the ‘%Store.Name%’ token to your email – Storefront will automatically replace this with your shop name. Other tokens you can use for your campaigns are:

%Store.URL% – your shop’s domain name (website address)
%Store.Email% – your shop’s email address
%NewsLetterSubscription.Email% – link to confirm newsletter subscription
%NewsletterLetterSubscription.ActivationUrl% – the URL for the webpage where customers can  subscribe to your newsletters
%NewsLetterSubscription.DeactivationUrl% – the URL for the webpage where customers can unsubscribe to newsletter

You can simply copy and paste the tokens you’d like to use from ‘Allowed message tokens’ list into your notifications. Click the ‘Save details’ button when you have finished adding your email content.

Sending a test email

Before you send the newsletter to all your customers, we recommend you first send yourself a test email to ensure it looks exactly how you expect it to. Simply enter an email address of your choice into the box under ‘Send a test email’ and click the ‘Send test email’ button. When you are happy with your message, you can send it to all your registered customers by clicking the ‘Send email to customers:’ button.

Once it has been sent, you can click the ‘Go back’ button to return to the ‘Newsletter manager’ page – you will now see a list of all your saved marketing emails. Just click the ‘Edit’ button next to the relevant email if you want to make any changes to it and to remove any emails from your Storefront click ‘Edit’, followed ‘Delete’.
